Harris Tweed
The world famous Harris Tweed is a handwoven woollen fabric made in the Outer Hebrides islands of Scotland. Working from their homes on the islands of Harris, Lewis, North Uist and Bara, the weavers of this superb product use only the finest and purest virgin wool hand dyed and spun incorporating traditional methods handed down from generation to generation. This produces a material that is like no other and the Harris Tweed used in Adelina Design products if of superb quality that will give years of enjoyment.
Scottish Thornproof
Scottish Thornproof was originally made in Northern Ireland, but is now recognised as a quality product of Scotland. This famous worsted material, is made from pure wool that is tightly woven to produce a fabric that is known throughout the world for its quality and durability. It has been said that “thorns could not penetrate through a man’s trousers if he was wearing thornproof” – hence its name.
Fur Felt
Whilst there are different types of felts on the market, fur felt is arguably of the finest and best quality. Fur felt hats are most commonly produced from rabbit fur, which gives the hat that velvet texture that feels soft and luxurious.
Feather Brooch Plumes
These very attractive accessories are made from solid antique pewter cast into our distinctive shapes highlighted by feather plumes from peacock, pheasant, black rooster and guinea fowl. The brooch plumes are unique to Adelina Design and make an unusual gift for a man or woman.
